Seniors of Canarsie Adult Living Center, 1880 Rockaway Parkway, learned how changing what they eat and how they cook can lead to healthier, longer lives. The center’s owner Maria Pollak and Program Director Xavier Gonzalez invited “The Vegan Alkaline Chef” Brother Rojo to run the healthy cooking demonstration. Seniors from the community were welcome to partake in the free event. “We encourage all of our seniors to eat right and stay healthy,” stated Gonzalez.
